Stineman at Stanford

  • Hey again everyone! Hope you all are doing well and training hard. Mindee wanted me to give you another update of life here at Stanford. Tennis has been going pretty well recently. I reached two finals this fall, both in doubles: one at the Battle of the Bay Classic, the other at the ITA Northwest Regional Championships. My partner, Walker Kehrer, and I were actually just one point away from qualifying for National Indoors. It was a tough loss, but we put ourselves in a good position. Our coaches here are great, John and JJ Whitlinger and Brandon Coupe. They all are really great to have on the court in competition and practice, but are also really supportive of the team's academic goals. Speaking of academics, it is still tough and there is a lot of work, but I'm doing well overall. And morning workouts are tough but good as well. We usually do about a 45 minute circuit workout with tennis specific weight exercises, and then do another 45 minute workout consisting of bikes, sprints, etc. Also, the food is pretty good. The dining hall at Wilbur (where I live) is one of the best on campus, so I guess I got lucky! Keep up the hard work everyone, and I'll see you in December! Robert Stineman

Jared Hiltzik Wins Super Nationals Gold Ball Winner 2012

← Hiltzik wins National Title Saturday morning practice → Winter Nationals RECAP Jan 2 Posted by wheiser2 While most were enjoying the holiday vacation a few players from GRC Team X traveled to sunny Arizona to battle the outdoor conditions. The USTA Super National Winter Championships generally do not fair well with Midwest players since they are coming from practicing indoors for months to competing outdoors with only a day to prepare and get used to the different conditions. Overall, it was a great event with Jared Hiltzik winning the tittle! Aron Hiltzik and Elizabeth Zordani finished top 8. HIGHLIGHTS: We are very proud to say that Jared Hiltzik won the Boys 18 USTA Super National Winter Championships. This is a great accomplishment for Jared! Jared had this to say about his tournament, “Hard work paid off at Winter Nats this week and I am so happy to be in this position. Every match I played, I took one point at a time and never looked back. In the finals I started out pretty nervous. I talked to my coach and he calmed me down and gave me a game plan. I stuck to the game plan and it worked.” Not to be overshadowed were the results of Aron Hiltzik who finished in the top 8 in the Boys 16 and Elizabeth Zordani who also finished in the top 8 in the Girls 16s. Aron Hiltzik did not quite do as well as he hoped, but expect big things from Aron in 2012. He had this to say, ”All in all, it was a successful tournament but I was disappointed with my performance in the quarterfinals. I knew I was capable of winning the tournament but I came up short in the end.” More than ever, Elizabeth Zordani finally earned her place among the nations best. She made a commitment to her tennis and it is paying off. Elizabeth had this to say, ” A couple months ago I made a decision and a commitment to work hard all the time and make sacrifices every day so that I could improve. At first, when the results weren’t paying off, I questioned and doubted myself and what I was doing. But, I kept working knowing that I would be rewarded for all my hard work. I used my frustration and losses to motivate me. The results eventually came, even better than what I thought I could do. I realized with hard work, determination, effort and a good attitude that my dreams and goals can be accomplished. This tournament is a new starting point for me, and is only the beginning of what I hope to achieve.” A special thanks from Jared, “I am very thankful for all the coaches at Glenbrook that have helped me over the past few months. I have had my ups and downs but I am grateful that I have people around me to keep me grounded. Also, I would like to think Mindee and TipTop training for putting me in the best shape possible. I went through the tournament with zero hiccups physically. Thanks again.” Congratulations to all of the players and a great way to end/begin the new year! Best of luck in 2012 and keep working!

Carol Finke moving up in ranks

Carol Finke has had a great summer so far as it has all paid off from all the hard work she has put in at Tip Top Training. "Carol is the most physically fit athlete I have seen in the country. Not only does this make her physically stronger and faster on the tennis court but also makes her mentally tough and it shows in her results." says her trainer Mindee Epstein

"My fitness has given me the confidence to know that I will play well in each and every match. My game continues to improve due to my fitness at Tip Top and home mainteneance program. I am mentally able to get through 5 days of a tournament without being tired" Carol Finke
Good luck to Carol in the rest of the summer!

The Science of Workout Nutrition

The Science of Workout Nutrition

To build strength and lean muscle, you need to fuel your body properly before and after your training session. By eating the right foods at the right times, you'll have more energy to train, you'll recover better from intense workouts and you'll maximize the muscle building process.

Pre-workout Fuel

Many people work out first thing in the morning on an empty stomach. While exercising is a great way to start the day, eating something is essential to maximizing results. Even if it’s just half of an apple or a pre-workout shooter, which is something like a watered down glass of orange juice with a scoop of whey protein or simply a glass of water with a scoop of whey, the time it takes to whip up a quick snack will pay dividends in the results you see from training.

Recent research has shown that the pre-workout shooter may produce an effect equal to a traditional post-workout recovery shake. Whey protein is great choice because it’s digested fast so it gets to your muscles quickly. Here are a few sample snacks combos:

1. 1/2cup orange juice + 1 cup water + 1 scoop whey protein
2. 1 scoop EAS Endurathon + 6 to 12 ounces water
3. 8 ounce smoothie – vanilla whey protein, berries, a little orange juice and ice
4. Yogurt with 1/2 cup cereal
5. Energy gel
6. 16-ounce sports drink
7. Slice of toast with natural peanut butter
8. 1/2 energy bar

Post-workout Fuel

For active people, this may be the most important meal of the day. After a training session, your body craves nutrients to repair damaged muscle tissue. If you’re not feeding your body these nutrients—whether you’re working out or even sleeping—not only will you not optimize your training, but you also risk your body turning to lean muscle stores for a source of energy, an process known as catabolism.

Drinking a shake or sports drink or eating an energy bar after you train will help maximize the muscle building process and expedite your body’s recovery process. Look for something with about 0.8 grams of carbohydrates per kilogram of body weight and 0.4 grams of protein per kilogram of body weight.

83 Ways to Make your Best Year Yet 2011

83 Ways to Make 2011 Your Best Year Yet

* Be the most positive person you know.
* Get 1% better everyday.
* Define your “game-changing” move in 2011. Then get it done!
* Take more risks.
* Do something that scares you everyday.
* Be a team builder, regardless of your title at work.
* Remember that business is about relationships and connections.
* People need motivation, accountability, and know how. Deliver it.
* Write your eulogy and then live your life backwards.
* Know your Big 5: the 5 most important things that need to happen by the end of the year to make 2011 feel like it truly has been the best year of your life.
* Read your Big 5 every morning.
* Post affirmations on your bathroom mirror.
* Don’t focus on making money – focus on creating value.
* Lead by executing and getting results. No excuses.
* Strive to be ‘World Class’ in all you do.
* Read The 4 Agreements by Dom Miguel Ruiz.
* Train like a pro athlete – exercise more.
* Eat higher quality foods.
* Get a massage once a week.
* Attend a destination spa vacation each year.
* Have at least one other “dream” vacation each year.
* Remember – no one has ever regretted a great workout.
* Be obsessed with learning.
* Join a Mastermind Group. It will accelerate your results, improve your mindset, and provide you with fertile soil in which to grow.
* Be impeccable with your words – don’t complain, gossip, or be negative.
* Be careful with whom you surround yourself. Just as much as the right people can pull you up, the wrong crowd can bring you down.
* Plan as if you will live forever but live as if you’ll die tomorrow.
* Say please, thank you, and I love you more.
* Give someone a massage.
* Write love letters like you used to.
* Call someone you always wanted to talk to but never thought you could.
* Call an old coach or teacher and thank them for positively impacting your life.
* If you want to resolve a conflict, use the phone instead of email.
* Write a hand-written note to a client or customer.
* When you travel, send letters to your kids on hotel stationary.
* If you want more, GIVE more.
* Do or do not – there is no try.
* The way you do one thing is the way you do everything.
* Journal. What are you thankful for? What are your intentions for the day? Who is in need of prayer today? Where were you outstanding today?
* Clarity precedes genius. Find clarity in writing and solitude.
* Track your success.
* Slow down in order to speed up.
* Be willing to fail. It’s the price of greatness.
* Spend at least 10 minutes every morning in quiet time, prayer time, or meditation time.
* Listen to inspirational music. Create your favorite play list for chilling out as well as working out.
* Listen to books on tape and podcasts.
* Read The IMPACT! Body Plan.
* Read The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People by Stephen R. Covey.
* Read The Leader Without a Title, The Greatness Guide, and The Monk Who Sold His Ferrari by Robin Sharma.
* Watch a Rocky “marathon” with your kids on a rainy day.
* Do what you do best and hire the rest.
* Sometimes good is good enough. Don’t let “perfectionism” rob you of getting things done.
* “Color code your life,” says my mentor, Wayne Cotton. Green machine, blue sky, red tape, and mellow yellow. Visit www.nobrowndays.com for more information.
* Complete a 90-Day Wonder. What have I accomplished in the last 90 days? What are my current challenges? What will I accomplish in the next 90 days?
* Remember the 10,000-hour Rule. It often takes about 10,000 hours or 10 years to be recognized as an expert.
* Success takes time. Be patient, but continually invest in yourself.
* Work on your business, not in your business.
* Your big ideas typically come when you are sitting on a beach or skiing in the mountains.
* Hire only “A” players to build a winning business.
* Replace the bottom 10% of your players each year.
* Everyone in an organization should be considered a “leader.”
* Always believe in your dreams, even when they seem impossible or others doubt you.
* Focus, focus, focus!
* Water people everyday – lift people up instead of tearing people down.
* One quick “No” is better than 10 “maybes” or “I don’t knows.”
* Win the day!
* Remember what Walt Disney said, “Everything speaks!”
* Be more spontaneous.
* Block out the noise and focus on the signal.
* Develop a hobby.
* The bigger the dream, the more important the team.
* Run your own race – be authentic and original.
* Speak more. Write more. Read more.
* Turn OFF your TV!
* Eliminate excuses.
* Organize your time more effectively.
* “Eat that Frog,” says Brian Tracy. Do the things that you don’t like to do or want to do but have to do early in your day.
* Get your mind right!
* Do more of what you love to do.
* Action is like gas in the car. Without it, you will not go.
* Be humble…be hungry.
* Create IMPACT everyday.
* Live by the mantra, “… And then some.”

Implement any single item on this list and you will create change. Combine a few to really rock your world and the world of those around you. Explore, experiment and find your favorites. But remember, there’s more to it than implementing a list of action items. YOUR BEST YEAR YET will require something deep within YOU.

Baseball performance Training

The High school baseball Players at Tip Top are getting ready for try-outs.
They have been improving greatly as they are working on core strength, speed,
agility, acceleration, injury prevention and quickness.

Our debate has been why bench press is not important training baseball players. Think of your chest as a Cadillac and your back a Volkswagon. Large versus small stabilizer muscles ..so the Volkswagons need to get stronger and stabilize the large Cadillacs muscles.

The exercises we emphasize:
Core (center of gravity)
Rotator cuff (injury prevention to rotator cuff)
explosiveness and speed
Good Luck to all in try-outs next month

Matt Burr

Matt has been coming to Tip Top for over 3 years, beginning with his desire to become a better baseball player. He discovered Tip Top after a recommendation from his then-hitting coach, Joe Knudsen, and has been training 2-4 times a week ever since. Mindee has described him as the hardest worker she has ever seen, as he always puts all that he has into his workouts. Probably his greatest accomplishment has been his forearm plank, which he has held for 15, 20, and 31 minutes respectively over the past two years. He is currently a senior at New Trier High School and is going to Wittenberg University in the fall where he may run cross country and play baseball.

Rick Gurolnick Vintage Car Racing

Auto-racing vintage cars is his hobby. Rick has ben working at Tip Top for more than 20 years, Mindee's longest running client. He began at Tip Top after suffering a skiing injury and Mindee went on to identify his weak points and made these into strengths. Working on these helped Rick's endurance and performance.

In what way has Tip Top helped you the most? It has helped me to understand my weaknesses and how to safely strengthen my shoulders, legs and my core.

Rick races vintage cars at high speeds. He has raced at Watkins Glen, Road America and Sebring, to name just a few of the elite courses he has run.

How do you physically prepare for a race weekend?
1. Nutrition/Balanced meals throughout the day/ 9 glasses of water
2. Pre-race warmup/Total body active stretches/White roller stretching for 3 min.
3. Visualization- especially winning!
4. Post race cool down-walking stretching
5. Hydrate

Rick has many races and more updates will be coming.

Rick recently became a grandfather and is also the father of twelve year old twins at age 55.

Hersey Invite 5/1/10

5/1/10

I was at the Hersey Tennis Boy's Invitational on Friday and Saturday afternoon. This is a 32 team tournament in which they call mini state. The wind was blowing at 70mph. That was an obstacle in itself. Jared Hiltzik and Calvin Mang played one doubles and lost in the Finals to Hinsdale Central. Jared is playing outstanding tennis. Coach Eckert says "Jared is the hottest player on the team right now." Last week Jared Hiltzik beat Luke Ginsburg from North Shore Country Day in an exciting dual match. Drew Campbell and Arthur Ozga also went to the finals in the second doubles position!
Keep watching New Trier Tennis this year....very exciting tennis!!

What it feels like to be a State Champion

The feeling of being a State Champ is like a dream.  It's something that you never expect to happen and then it happens.  It is so fulfilling and knowing that you deserve it as a team.  Everyone on the team was a huge part of the winning Championship!

It hard to believe that we did it...we were not suppose to win... and we were not the most talented team in the State.
We had nothing to lose going into the game...ITS A DREAM!!!!!!!

This message was sent to each player as we the New Trier team was preparing for the championship game.

"This is it ,this is the State Championship. We've been dreaming about this night forever. Now is the time to live the dream.  Dreams are generally out of our control and left to fate, but this dream is special.  This dream is reality.  Tonight we can decide to battle and overcome as we tempt to fate our special dream.  We have control, we can steer this dream in the right direction down glory road.  Winning a state Championship is a glorious accomplishment, but the true glory lies in the journey taken to this point, in the trust you have in the man next to you, and in the true fact that you have done everything you can to walk away on top.

This is your time and your turn to become a state champion. Go out there and soak it up!
Become a State Champion Today!"

Congrats New Trier Baseball 2009

High School Tennis comes to an end!

My name is Drew Campbell and I am a freshman on the New Trier Varsity tennis team. I finished with a record of 18-2 and won conference at 3 singles for my squad. The team as a whole finished 3rd in the state behind Hinsdale Central and Stevenson. Robert Stineman, a fellow tip-topper played one singles for us and got 6th in state beating players like Ben Hoogland and Michael Jacobs. Andrew Scholnick finished in 8th place for us.

Ross Putterman, a sophomore at Stevenson High School had a great finish, placing 2nd in the doubles with partner David Packowitz. In the quarterfinals, they were down 5-2 in the third set, and with two rain delays they rallied back to win in a third set tiebreaker. Using the tiptop technique of dolphin breath and jump roping to stay loose, they went on to win the match.

We are all getting ready for the qualifier the biggest sectional  tournament of the year!

to put the Trevians up 2-1.  Gordie Campbell put on 15 pounds and got in Tip Top shape. Gordie Campell gave 110 percent on his fitness thru the winter and I feel it has paid off!

Blake Oslan Training HARD!!!

Before coming to TipTop I was struggling in Tennis physically and  mentally. Then, after I finished 6 months of TipTop I finally won my first 12s the day before my 11th birthday the Wildcat Invitational.  TipTop training has improved my Tennis game so much! Also, Mindee always reminded me to prepare before a match which means stretching, running, and jump rope.  TipTop has helped me win the tournaments I Hhave won. If you are strong physically and mentally you can be a great sports player!

Interning at Tip Top Training

My name is Rachel Mason and I am a student at Indiana University where I am studying to later become a physical therapist. I play volleyball, lacrosse and just rode in the Little 500 at Indiana for my first time. For the next couple of weeks I will be interning here at Tip Top Training with Mindee in order to learn more about the body and how to prepare athletes for competition. During the past three weeks that I have been here, I have met and learned about all the different athletes that come here to train and have learned how to help them get into shape. So far, I have enjoyed working with everyone that comes in here to train and am excited about learning more that I can do to help other athletes in my future as a physical therapist.

Stineman Goes For High School State Tennis Title

The question next week will be who be crowned high school state tennis title??  There are many possibilities so we will see who is the most competitive.  The tournament will be held at Prospect HS.  The tournament starts on Thursday and goes until Saturday afternoon.

This year Sophmore Star ,Robert Stineman #43 in the country from New Trier and trains at Tip Top  has grown at least 7 inches...He has many wins against great players including a  3 1/2 hour night match under the lights..   His Opponent Michael Moore.....  There were awesome points, sportsmanship and great tennis!!  High school tennis is my favorite time of the year because you can see all local athletes playing against one another in my backyard.
Stay tuned for next weeks results...
I was at Senior day for New Trier baseball and they had a tough loss.  Carmel High School took the Trevians  9-2.  I was able to see John Saleh pitch and watch Tim Duxbury and Bob Cook hit homeruns. That was the highlight of my day!  Next week Wednesday starts play offs for High School baseball.

Good luck to all!

Trevians not flawless, but good.

The Trevians made it through another long week, but were not perfect.  On Tuesday of last week New Trier played Evanston at Evanston's newly re-done field field.  Things did not go well for the Trevs as they were up set by the Wildkits and lost 11-3.  The three runs were acquired on a Tim Duxbury home run.  The Trevians did not take this loss lightly and responded on Thursday by defeating Evanston 11-1 in 5 innings at Duke Childs, New Trier's home field.  The week was finished strong with a big win over Lockport at Lockport in extra innings.  Tim Duxbury hit the game winning 2 run homer in the top of the eighth and we were able to hold the Porters offense back thanks to spectacular pitching from Bob Cook.

Tuesday, May 5, 2009

Yesterday even senior pitcher John Saleh got his first start at Maine South.  We, the Trevians, scored one run in the first inning and thanks to the great pitching that one run was enough to win the game.  The ending score was 1 to 0.  Saleh, a Lehigh recruit, provided 4 solid innings of shot out baseball for New Trier.  Sophomore, Charlie Tilson, came on in the 5th inning in relief and provided three more shut out innings.  It was a close one for the Trevs, but we came away with it.  Congrats to Johnny Saleh on is first start and win of his senior season at New Trier.

Trevians defeat Stevenson

Yesterday we, the New Trier Trevians, defeated the Stevenson baseball team.  It was a big win considering Stevenson was ranked right behind us.  Eli Anderson made his first varsity start and it was a success.  He pitched six innings of shut out baseball and only allowed two hits.  The ending score was 3-0, it was a close one.  The game was tied at 0 for most inning.  Then in a late inning we plated one run and a few innings later added two more.  Pitching and defense took the game from there shutting down Stevenson's offense in the innings.  It was a big win for the Trevs.

Trevians faced with long week and key players regain eligibility

It's a busy week for the Trevians, with a game almost everyday. This long week could not have come at a better time considering the new eligibility of pitchers John Saleh and Eli Anderson. Anderson will make his first varsity start tonight against Stevenson with Saleh in relief. Yesterday lead by ace pitcher, Bob Cook, we defeated Maine South. Bob pitched beautifully, he pitched all seven innings allowing one hit, no runs, and no walks. The week has been made tougher due to the adverse weather. The temperature has dropped again and it is a constant struggle to keep warm in the dug-out and maintain the feeling in our hands on the field. Stevenson should be a good game this evening. Good luck to Eli on his first Varsity start.

Baseball Season Getting Going at New Trier

Finally, yesterday the sun was out and the field was dry.  We played Deerfield at home.  We won the game 7 to 2.  Most of the game was really close as we were tied at one early and took a 3-1 lead in the middle.  In a late inning we bursted and next thing you know we were up 7-1.  Connor Murphy and Eli Anderson both made their pitching debuts in relief for starting pitcher Ryder Borre.  Murphy and Anderson looked very promising.  Today our conference schedule continues as we are playing at Niles West.

Spring Baseball with Chicago Weather

This week has gotten off to a slow start due to a lot of rain.  Monday and Tuesday's were canceled and rescheduled.  Due to the cancelations we got our first day off of the season on Monday and had to go back inside to practice on Tuesday.  With the extra time I went down to the Cubs game last night as they beat the Reds.  Today we have our rescheduled game from Monday at Deerfield.  With the weather getting better everyday we hope that the season will get rolling and we can find a steady rhythm.
Talk to everyone soon!

I'm Johnny Schroeder, I am interning at Tip Top for the next four weeks.  I have been training with Mindee at Tip Top for two years and I am currently a member of the New Trier Baseball team and will be playing next year at Colby College in Maine.
Concerning our season at New Trier it is going well we are 8 and 2 and as of Monday ranked 5th in the state, after a big win over Sandburg High School.  We hope to make a run at the State Championship.
Tim Duxbury and Jono Hall have hit the first home runs of the season both in victories against top 10 teams (Prairie Ridge and Sandburg).  Pitcher Bob Cook has started the season well with a few big wins in the mound.  Its looking good for the 2009 New Trier baseball team.

Aron Hiltzik Congrats on your Bar Mitzvah

Tip Toppers..

First I would like to congratulate Aron Hiltzik #4 in the country in tennis.  Aron did a spectacular job on his Bar Mitvah studies and was quite poised.  In the evening he had an amazing party at Pin Stripes and did some break dancing with Jasmine the DJ.  Know wonder Aron has awesome footwork...just watch him on the dance floor!

The best part of the party was the sweet table.  Even though I talk about eating nutritiously ..they had an awesome chocolate and vanilla fountain.
      Please let me know if there have been any other success stories!

See you later

April 13th National Plank Day!

Dear Tip Toppers,

Tip Top has a National Plank Day...April 13th
What is Plank?  Plank is a core exercise that is in the push up position and holding the position with your forearms bent. Maintain  your back and legs straight.
The reason why I call April 14th National Plank day is that plank is one of my strength evaluations.  Matt Burr, 16 years old had the plank record at twenty minutes within the past 4 months.  Kenny Herrmann 10 years old broke the record at 23 minutes and ten seconds....WOW!

I received BREAKING NEWS that Matt Burr that night did a 31 minute plank!  To me that was a mental exercise then a physical one!  Great job Matt!

Anyone who wants to challenge the 31 minute plank please let me know!

Eat To Win!

Hi Tip Top Athletes,
Finally the spring is here!  We are outside every once in awhile training so we can get use to working in the sunshine and soon to be heat,,,
We talked a few days ago regarding nutrition...

The first question I ask the Tip Top athletes is what did you have for breakfast?
The answers I get from the newcomers are frosted flakes, cocoa pebbles and it gets worse.  My comment is that they should just eat a cup of sugar if you eat like that!

The real answer is eat healthy
Breakfast Plan ideas:
*eggs or egg whites (2 or 3)
*pancakes
*fruit and oatmeal

Lunch
Turkey Sandwich on wheat
fruit
pretzels
chicken noodle soup

Dinner
Chicken
steak
Potato baked
salad with tomatoes
green beans

     Snacks after school-apples and peanut butter,  banana, fruit smoothie
*Eat three snacks during the day and three meals, breakfast, lunch and dinner!
*Remember to drink ten glasses of water daily!!

Ask me to write you a meal plan if you want to be the best you can be!!

Train SMART during your season

Hello Tip Toppers,

I have a few athletes  at Tip Top who are training during season.  Training during season is a way to prevent injuries and get the competitive edge over your opponents.

During spring break Ross Putterman has committed to getting fit during his tennis season. Ross is ranked  Top 5 Doubles Prospect for High School Tennis.  He is a sophomore at Stevenson High School.

Ross:    "I really want to get better for High School season and I think the fitness and training has been missing from my game in the past years!  My eating plan is much better and I am in the gym daily....lifting and working out at Tip Top!  I know this will pay off in the long run.  My goals are to get faster on the court and get much stronger"  Mark Bey, Ross Putterman's coach feels that getting stronger and more fit will help him get to the next level!  I believe that's right!
Good luck in your season Ross!

Talk to everyone soon.

Train and get ready for Spring/Summer Sports!!!

Dear Tip Toppers,

I was sad to say that Duke lost in the Sweet 16. I felt like Villanova played like a Championship Team and Duke couldn't do it!!  Next year will be Duke's year!

I have an MVP of the month and new Tip Top Athlete. Conrad Harron who is ranked #1 in the country in the 12 and unders. We are getting ready for Easter Bowl and Conrad is working very hard on his physical and mental game!! Look for the mover of the YEAR..... Conrad Harron!

The New Trier Varsity Baseball Team traveled to Carbondale over spring break...They had a record of 4 and 1. Gordie Campbell started on the Varsity team as a sophmore. The baseball team seemed strong and consistant throughout spring break.

Look on www.tiptoptraining to see my summer schedule!

NCAA Basketball Tournament

Hi Tip Toppers,

I was so excited the game against Duke and
Texas!  It was a bit close for me to watch but I guess every play off game seems to be a two point game. The end result was 74 Duke 69 Texas.
Thee was one particular shot which I thought saved the game...It was the Scheyer left arm throw behind his back and into the middle of the court to shave at least 5 seconds off the clock..  That must have been from all his strength training in the past....particularly from the medicine ball!   Coach k compared Jon Scheyer to Magic Johnson on one of  the play of the game in the you tube video!

Sweet 16 Duke against Villanova  Thursday night 9pm on CBS
Let's all cheer on Duke and our Tip Top player of the year Jon Scheyer!
Good Luck!
