The feeling of being a State Champ is like a dream. It's something that you never expect to happen and then it happens. It is so fulfilling and knowing that you deserve it as a team. Everyone on the team was a huge part of the winning Championship!
It hard to believe that we did it...we were not suppose to win... and we were not the most talented team in the State.
We had nothing to lose going into the game...ITS A DREAM!!!!!!!
This message was sent to each player as we the New Trier team was preparing for the championship game.
"This is it ,this is the State Championship. We've been dreaming about this night forever. Now is the time to live the dream. Dreams are generally out of our control and left to fate, but this dream is special. This dream is reality. Tonight we can decide to battle and overcome as we tempt to fate our special dream. We have control, we can steer this dream in the right direction down glory road. Winning a state Championship is a glorious accomplishment, but the true glory lies in the journey taken to this point, in the trust you have in the man next to you, and in the true fact that you have done everything you can to walk away on top.
