Matt Burr
Matt has been coming to Tip Top for over 3 years, beginning with his desire to become a better baseball player. He discovered Tip Top after a recommendation from his then-hitting coach, Joe Knudsen, and has been training 2-4 times a week ever since. Mindee has described him as the hardest worker she has ever seen, as he always puts all that he has into his workouts. Probably his greatest accomplishment has been his forearm plank, which he has held for 15, 20, and 31 minutes respectively over the past two years. He is currently a senior at New Trier High School and is going to Wittenberg University in the fall where he may run cross country and play baseball.
Rick Gurolnick Vintage Car Racing
Auto-racing vintage cars is his hobby. Rick has ben working at Tip Top for more than 20 years, Mindee's longest running client. He began at Tip Top after suffering a skiing injury and Mindee went on to identify his weak points and made these into strengths. Working on these helped Rick's endurance and performance.
In what way has Tip Top helped you the most? It has helped me to understand my weaknesses and how to safely strengthen my shoulders, legs and my core.
Rick races vintage cars at high speeds. He has raced at Watkins Glen, Road America and Sebring, to name just a few of the elite courses he has run.
How do you physically prepare for a race weekend?
1. Nutrition/Balanced meals throughout the day/ 9 glasses of water
2. Pre-race warmup/Total body active stretches/White roller stretching for 3 min.
3. Visualization- especially winning!
4. Post race cool down-walking stretching
5. Hydrate
Rick has many races and more updates will be coming.
Rick recently became a grandfather and is also the father of twelve year old twins at age 55.

New intern Matt Burr

Hi, I'm Matt Burr, and I'm Mindee's new intern. I am a senior at New Trier High School and am on Seneior Project, where seniors go outside of the classroom and into the work world for four weeks. I began training with Mindee in 2007, and have been going to Tip Top 2-3 times every week since then. I play baseball and run cross country, and I'm looking forward to competing in these during college at the D-3 level.
I will be reporting on former tip top athletes who are currently playing at different levels beyond high school, primarily college athletes.
Today's update: Tim Duxbury
Tim is a Freshman at Denison University and is hitting .377 with one home run, 13 RBI and 15 runs scored. Overall, the team's record is 19-15 and in first place in the NCAC. The team has two games left with Earlham College this Wedsnesday.
In other news, Johnny Schroeder, playing for Colby College, has played errorless ball behind te plate, with his team going 11-10.

Jon Scheyer

We are excited about Jon Scheyer at Duke this year. He has been averaging 20 points a game.
Jon is a senior...I am shocked at how quickly time goes by. He was just in winning State at Glenbrook North and now a senior at Duke looking to play in the NBA.
Let's root for Scheyer and Duke to win a national title this year! Jon is a candidate for the John R. Wooden award. I am so proud of Jon for his leadership, determination and drive! Join his fan page on facebook!
Let's Go DUKE!
